Drs C F Clark & M A Lamb – Sale of property in Royal Leamington Spa
Letter of Commendation to The National Association of Estate Agents
"We are writing to you to offer our commendation to one of your members, Paul Twyneham of Paul Twyneham & Company, and of others of his staff, for exemplary service to us during a protracted and often difficult effort to sell our house in Leamington Spa. Paul Twyneham's assistance to us was not only essential to the ultimate success of the sale, which has been satisfactorily completed, but went well beyond the ordinary call of duty.
We placed our house on the market with Paul Twyneham & Company, anticipating a sale before our departure to live in the USA. Despite interest, no purchaser came forward and we placed the house instead in the hands of letting agents with a view to putting it back on the market for sale at a later date. Inattentiveness by tenants, letting agents, and plumbers resulted in considerable damage to the house from water leaks, which accumulated over the spring and early summer. When we paid a visit to the house to review the damage and speed up repairs, Paul Twyneham readily acceded to our request to come along, and from then on he was an invaluable source of advice and assistance. Repairs were no sooner completed than he found interested potential buyers who quickly made an acceptable offer to purchase the house.
But it was only due to his and his colleagues' attentiveness that the sale was successfully accomplished on time. We have been here in the USA all along, and Paul Twyneham and Company. managed things for us that we could not take care of at a distance. He arranged for the house to be regularly checked before the sale, and for the removal of all our remaining furniture by a house clearer. Above all, he detected and had corrected a serious omission by the buyers' solicitor that had held proceedings up for several weeks and which put the timely completion of the sale in jeopardy. For these and many smaller kindnesses we are very grateful to him.
We have expressed to Paul Twyneham our warm appreciation for this, but we should like it to be known among his colleagues also."
